Sokrati is a performance marketing and digital advertising platform headquartered in Pune, India, and owned by the Dentsu Group. It manages Google Ads, Meta Ads, Amazon Ads and programmatic campaigns from a single dashboard, with proprietary algorithms for bid management, audience building and creative testing. Sokrati installs tracking pixels and synchronises audience identifiers with major DSPs, which requires explicit consent and a documented data transfer chain for European deployments.
Sokrati is a digital marketing platform founded in India and acquired by Dentsu Aegis Network. It centralises planning, execution and analytics for Google Ads, Meta Ads, Amazon Ads, LinkedIn and programmatic campaigns. Sokrati combines machine learning bid management, automated creative testing and behavioural audience building, primarily for e commerce, finance, telecommunication and travel brands across India and the Middle East. European brands using Dentsu group services may have their campaigns served from Sokrati infrastructure.
Sokrati captures conversion events, page URLs, device identifiers, IP addresses, user agents, UTM parameters and click identifiers from advertising networks. It also processes first party CRM data uploaded by advertisers for audience matching, computes behavioural segments and synchronises audiences with downstream DSPs through cookie matching and server to server integrations.
Sokrati is a third party advertising processor. Its pixel based tracking is not strictly necessary, so it falls under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and requires prior consent. Cross context behavioural advertising must rely on consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, since the EDPB has repeatedly excluded legitimate interest for this purpose in 2023 and 2024.

Block the Sokrati pixel and any DSP synchronisation it performs through your Consent Management Platform. Forward consent signals to Sokrati through Google Consent Mode v2 and the IAB TCF 2.2 framework. Limit data shared via the Conversions API to first party data covered by valid consent.
Sokrati processes data in India. India does not have an EU adequacy decision in 2026 and recently adopted the DPDP Act 2023. Transfers from the EU rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and require a Transfer Impact Assessment evaluating Indian surveillance laws and the supplementary technical measures applied (encryption, pseudonymisation).
Sign the Dentsu / Sokrati DPA and SCCs, document a Transfer Impact Assessment, configure your CMP to gate the Sokrati pixel and DSP synchronisations, restrict first party uploads to consenting users, and update your privacy notice to disclose Sokrati Marketing Services Private Limited, the India transfer and downstream DSP partners.
Websites using Sokrati must obtain user consent under GDPR regulations.
DPIA considerations
A DPIA is recommended when Sokrati manages large advertising budgets, performs behavioural profiling for retargeting, or combines first party CRM data with third party audiences. Schrems II requires a Transfer Impact Assessment for the transfer to India.
