Basis Technologies, formerly Centro, is a US omni channel programmatic advertising platform combining DSP, ad serving and workflow tools across display, video, search, social and TV.
Basis Technologies, formerly known as Centro, is an omni channel programmatic advertising platform that combines a demand side platform (DSP), an ad server, planning and workflow tools. Brands and agencies use it to plan, deliver and measure display, video, native, search, social and connected TV campaigns from a single interface.
Basis sets advertising cookies, captures the IP address, user agent, page URL, conversion events and audience segment membership through a tracking pixel installed on advertiser sites. The platform exchanges identifiers with downstream supply side platforms during real time bidding.
Cookie storage triggers Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and requires prior consent. Programmatic profiling across multiple channels and the IAB TCF v2.2 signal must be passed through the entire chain, with the publisher and the advertiser remaining responsible for the consent collection.

Block the Basis pixel until marketing or advertising consent has been collected. Pass a TCF v2.2 TC string. Honour withdrawal by stopping events and clearing cookies set by Basis or its partners.
Basis Technologies is a US company. Transfers from the EEA require certification under the EU US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses with a transfer impact assessment that addresses the FISA 702 risk surface for US adtech operators.
Sign a Data Processing Agreement, document Basis Technologies and its sub processors in your record of processing activities, run a DPIA, gate the pixel through your CMP, restrict events to those needed for measurement and offer a user level opt out.
Websites using Basis Technologies must obtain user consent under GDPR regulations.
DPIA considerations
A DPIA is required because Basis combines cross site profiling, programmatic auctions across multiple channels and US transfers, all factors that meet the EDPB criteria for high risk processing.

Yes. Cookie storage and the cross site profiling that follows are subject to Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and require prior consent.

Yes. Basis Technologies is operated from the United States and shares data with programmatic partners. Use the EU US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses with a transfer impact assessment.
Yes. Cross channel profiling, audience syncing and US transfers combined trigger Article 35 GDPR.

The Trade Desk, DV360 and Adform are direct alternatives with comparable compliance constraints. Server side conversion APIs and contextual platforms hosted in the EU offer lower transfer risk for specific use cases.
List Basis Technologies as a processor with the categories of data, purposes (cross channel advertising, audience building, measurement), retention, US transfer mechanism and a direct opt out link.
