All in One SEO (AIOSEO) is a long established WordPress SEO plugin, now developed by Awesome Motive, used on more than three million WordPress sites. It manages meta tags, structured data, sitemaps, redirects and SEO audits. AIOSEO is mostly server side and does not set cookies on visitors' browsers; the privacy considerations are therefore limited to the license metadata exchange with Awesome Motive and any optional integrations the administrator enables (Google Search Console, schema generators).
All in One SEO, often abbreviated AIOSEO, is one of the oldest WordPress SEO plugins, first released in 2007 and now maintained by Awesome Motive. It is installed on more than three million WordPress sites worldwide and competes mainly with Yoast SEO and Rank Math. AIOSEO ships meta title and description management, Open Graph and Twitter Cards, JSON LD structured data, XML sitemaps, redirects, robots.txt, 404 monitoring, broken link checking, an SEO assistant, schema generators and a Search Statistics module connected to Google Search Console.
AIOSEO is mostly a back end plugin: it modifies the HTML output of WordPress to add meta tags and structured data, and it builds sitemaps. It does not set cookies in the visitor''s browser by default. The license validation and update mechanism exchanges the site URL, plugin version, active modules and a license key with aioseo.com servers operated by Awesome Motive. The optional Search Statistics module requires the administrator to log in with Google and reads aggregated Search Console data; visitor data does not transit through AIOSEO in this flow.
Because AIOSEO does not set cookies and does not transmit visitor data to third parties, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive is largely irrelevant. Under the GDPR, the processing is limited to administrator data (login, email, license key) which can be grounded on contract performance and legitimate interest. The data flow to Awesome Motive in the United States is supported by the EU US Data Privacy Framework (Awesome Motive is a US company) or by Standard Contractual Clauses if requested. The Search Statistics module imports data from Google, which is already covered by the Google Search Console terms.

No, AIOSEO does not require visitor consent on its own. It is a metadata management plugin and not a tracker. If you nevertheless use the Search Statistics module connected to Google Search Console, that integration runs server side and does not place a cookie on the visitor. If you bundle AIOSEO with MonsterInsights, WPForms entries or third party SEO trackers, those individual components have their own consent obligations.
Awesome Motive is the only routine recipient and only of administrative metadata. The plugin can also fetch curated content (schema templates, knowledge base articles) from aioseo.com which is a normal third party CDN call with no personal data. Google LLC becomes a recipient when the optional Search Statistics or Google Search Console integration is configured by the administrator, but visitor data does not pass through this flow.
Document AIOSEO in your Article 30 register as a server side SEO tool. Mention Awesome Motive (USA) briefly in the privacy policy as a processor that handles licence metadata, with the EU US Data Privacy Framework or SCC mechanism. Do not add AIOSEO to the cookie banner because it does not set cookies. Disable telemetry features inside the plugin if you wish to minimise the metadata transfer, and review any active module (Search Statistics, redirect tracking) that may collect additional data.

DPIA considerations
AIOSEO on its own is a low risk processor and rarely needs a DPIA. Where AIOSEO is bundled with MonsterInsights, WPForms entry storage or Search Statistics powered by Google Search Console, document those integrations in the Article 30 register and treat their privacy implications separately.
