Octipulse is a marketing automation and engagement platform built for SMBs and mid market brands. It combines email and SMS campaigns, lead scoring, landing pages, web tracking and content personalisation. Octipulse offers EU data residency in Frankfurt as the default for European customers. The tracking script and email pixels are not strictly necessary, so deployment in Europe requires explicit consent and a documented integration with a Consent Management Platform.
Octipulse is a marketing automation and engagement platform that combines email campaigns, SMS marketing, landing pages, web tracking, lead scoring and content personalisation. It serves small and medium sized businesses with a focus on European customers thanks to its Frankfurt data residency. Octipulse competes with HubSpot, ActiveCampaign and Brevo in the European mid market.
Octipulse stores contact details (name, email, phone, address, custom fields), behavioural data on the website (pages viewed, time spent, downloads), email and SMS engagement (opens, clicks, bounces), lead scoring and an audit trail of staff actions on the contact. The tracking script and email pixels collect IP addresses, user agents and an anonymous Octipulse identifier.
Octipulse is a third party processor. Its tracking cookies and email open pixels are not strictly necessary, so they require prior consent under Art. 5(3) ePrivacy. Behavioural scoring and segmentation must rely on consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Email marketing follow up may rely on legitimate interest only when the soft opt in conditions of national ePrivacy implementations are met.

Block Octipulse tracking and email pixels in your Consent Management Platform. Forms must offer a granular opt in for newsletters versus transactional notifications, and unsubscribe links must be present in every commercial email. The marketing consent log must be exportable as proof of consent.
Configure Octipulse to use the Frankfurt region for European customers. Data then stays inside the EU. Operators using the US region need to rely on the EU US Data Privacy Framework, sign Standard Contractual Clauses and document a Transfer Impact Assessment per Schrems II.
Sign the Octipulse DPA, set the Frankfurt region, enforce MFA and role based access, set retention rules for inactive contacts, integrate a CMP, configure double opt in on subscription forms, and document Octipulse in your Article 30 register.
Websites using Octipulse must obtain user consent under GDPR regulations.
DPIA considerations
A DPIA is appropriate when Octipulse is used for large scale behavioural scoring, when sensitive segments (health, finance) are profiled, or when combined with third party advertising trackers that introduce additional risk vectors.

Yes. Marketing tracking, behavioural scoring and email open pixels are not strictly necessary; Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Art. 6 GDPR require explicit consent before activation.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for marketing tracking and behavioural profiling. Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for transactional communications once a relationship exists. Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) is constrained for marketing follow up and must respect national soft opt in rules.
No, if you select the Frankfurt EU region for European customers. Operators selecting the US region transfer data to the United States under the EU US Data Privacy Framework and SCCs.
A DPIA is appropriate for large scale behavioural profiling, sensitive segment processing, or combination with third party advertising trackers. It is mandatory under Art. 35 GDPR when the processing presents a high risk to the rights of data subjects.
Choose the Frankfurt EU region, sign the Octipulse DPA, integrate a CMP that gates the marketing snippets, configure double opt in on subscription forms, define retention rules for inactive contacts, and document Octipulse in your Article 30 register.
Yes. Brevo (France), Mailjet (France), Klaviyo (US but with EU regions), GetResponse (Poland) and ActiveTrail (Israel with EU regions) offer comparable marketing automation features with EU data residency.
List oc_uid, oc_session and oc_email with name, purpose, duration and provider. Disclose Octipulse as a processor with data hosted in Frankfurt (or in the US if applicable). Re trigger the consent banner so existing subscribers can update their preferences.
