# Regula

Essential · [Official website](https://regulaforensics.com)

Regula (Regula Forensics) develops identity verification software and forensic devices for checking ID documents and biometrics. Its SDKs and web components let a website or app scan a passport or ID card, read its data and compare the holder's face with a selfie. This involves processing identity documents and biometric data, which the GDPR treats as sensitive.
