# Amazon ALB

Essential · [Official website](https://aws.amazon.com/elasticloadbalancing/)

Amazon ALB (Application Load Balancer) is part of AWS Elastic Load Balancing and distributes incoming web traffic across several servers or containers. When session stickiness is enabled, it sets cookies such as AWSALB and AWSALBCORS so that a visitor keeps reaching the same server. These cookies serve a technical purpose for the site's operation.
