# iubenda alternatives: 8 CMPs compared on price and features (2026)

By Roland Vekemans · Published 23 October 2026 · 8 min read

In short

The best iubenda alternative depends on what you actually use iubenda for. If you only need the cookie banner, a dedicated CMP billed by sessions or by domain is often cheaper than iubenda's per-site, page-view pricing: look at FlowConsent, Usercentrics or CookieHub. If you also rely on its privacy policy and terms generators, Termly is the closest match. If you run programmatic ads, keep IAB TCF on your checklist, because not every alternative offers it.

iubenda is an Italian compliance provider that sells a cookie banner together with generators for privacy policies, cookie policies and terms and conditions. It is a solid product, and for some sites the bundle is exactly right. Others start looking for an iubenda alternative when their bill grows with traffic, when they add a second site, or when they realise they only use the banner. This guide explains what iubenda costs in 2026, compares eight alternatives on public prices and features, and shows how to switch without a compliance gap. If you are still defining your requirements, start with our guide on [how to choose a consent management platform](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/blog/how-to-choose-consent-management-platform).

Prices below are the public prices listed by each vendor in October 2026, excluding VAT. iubenda's prices were checked on its pricing page on 23 October 2026. CMP prices change often, so check the vendor's page before you buy.

## What iubenda does well

Before looking elsewhere, it helps to be clear about what you would give up.

- **Legal documents in the same account.** iubenda generates and hosts a privacy policy, a cookie policy and, from the Advanced plan, terms and conditions. The texts are built from clauses you select for each third-party service, and iubenda updates them when the law changes.
- **Broad jurisdiction coverage.** The banner can adapt to the GDPR, the ePrivacy rules, US state laws such as the CCPA, and Brazil's LGPD. Geolocation-based settings come with the Advanced plan.
- **Ad tech support.** iubenda is an IAB-validated CMP. Its pricing page lists IAB TCF 2.2 support on all three paid plans, along with Google Consent Mode.
- **Proof of cookie consent** is included on paid plans.

If you need all of this in one place, iubenda remains a reasonable choice. The rest of this guide is for sites where part of the bundle goes unused, or where the pricing model does not fit.

## iubenda pricing in 2026

iubenda bills **per site or app**, according to monthly **page views**:

- **Essentials:** €4.99/month billed yearly (€5.99 billed monthly), 25,000 page views, one language.
- **Advanced:** €19.99/month billed yearly (€21.99 billed monthly), 50,000 page views, all languages, geolocation, terms and conditions.
- **Ultimate:** €79.99/month billed yearly (€89.99 billed monthly), 150,000 page views and the full set of tools.

On every plan, extra traffic costs €0.05 per 1,000 page views. Proof of consent for forms and the newsletter opt-in tool cost €5/month per 1,000 consents. There is also a free plan, designed for very small sites.

A worked example: a bilingual site with 50,000 sessions and 100,000 page views per month needs the Advanced plan for the second language. That is €19.99 plus 50 × €0.05 of overage, so €22.49/month for one site. Three sites with the same profile cost three times that.

## Why look for an iubenda alternative?

### You only use the banner

Many sites already have a privacy policy written by a lawyer or produced with another tool. For them, the document generators add cost without adding value, because iubenda sells the cookie solution inside its plans rather than as a separate product.

### Page views make the bill hard to predict

Page views grow with every article, product page or gallery a visitor opens. A content site can see its costs rise without any increase in visitors. Tools that count sessions or domains give a steadier bill.

### Several sites, several subscriptions

Each site or app needs its own plan. Agencies and companies with country sites usually prefer a plan that covers several domains.

### Languages on the entry plan

Essentials covers one language. A bilingual banner, common in Belgium, Switzerland or Canada, pushes you to Advanced.

## What to check before you switch

A banner is only the visible part of a CMP. If you need a refresher on what the tool should do, read our explainer on [what a consent management platform is](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/blog/what-is-consent-management-platform-cmp). Then check five points:

1. **Real blocking before consent.** Analytics and advertising scripts must not run before the visitor accepts.
2. **Google Consent Mode v2**, if you use Google Ads or GA4 with visitors in the EEA.
3. **Proof of consent.** Article 7 of the [GDPR](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/laws/gdpr) requires you to demonstrate consent, so the tool should keep an exportable consent log.
4. **IAB TCF**, only if you sell ad inventory through programmatic platforms.
5. **Languages and domains** included in the plan you would actually need.

Then work out the real cost for your traffic. You can compare the cost of your current CMP in a few seconds with our [free CMP cost comparator](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/compare).

## The 8 best iubenda alternatives in 2026

### 1. FlowConsent

FlowConsent bills by sessions, not page views. It is free up to 25,000 sessions per month, then €14.99/month up to 100,000 sessions on the Pro plan, which includes three domains and up to five banner languages. Installation takes about ten minutes with one script. It includes Google Consent Mode v2, script blocking before consent, automatic cookie scanning, exportable proof of consent and hosting in Europe. What it does not do: it does not generate privacy policies or terms, and it does not offer IAB TCF today. Detailed comparison: [iubenda vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/iubenda-vs-flowconsent).

### 2. Termly

Termly is the closest match to iubenda's bundle: a consent banner plus generators for privacy policies, terms and other documents. It bills per website, with Starter at $10/month and Pro+ at $15/month billed annually. The free plan stops at 10,000 banner views per month, and IAB TCF and consent logs require Pro+. Comparison: [Termly vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/termly-vs-flowconsent).

### 3. Cookiebot

Cookiebot bills per domain according to the number of subpages its scanner finds: free up to 50 subpages, Premium Lite at €7/month, then from €15 to €90/month per domain as the page count grows. It is Google-certified and supports IAB TCF. Our guide to [Cookiebot alternatives](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/blog/best-cookiebot-alternatives) explains when this model becomes expensive. Comparison: [Cookiebot vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/cookiebot-vs-flowconsent).

### 4. Usercentrics

Usercentrics bills by sessions: free up to 1,000 sessions, then €7/month for 1,500, €15 for 3,000, €30 for 15,000 (three domains, IAB TCF) and €50 for 50,000. Comparison: [Usercentrics vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/usercentrics-vs-flowconsent).

### 5. CookieYes

CookieYes is popular on WordPress. Its free plan covers 5,000 page views per month. The Basic plan costs about €9/month for 100,000 page views, with higher plans up to about €50/month and $0.30 per 1,000 extra page views. It supports IAB TCF. Comparison: [CookieYes vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/cookieyes-vs-flowconsent).

### 6. CookieHub

CookieHub, from Iceland, bills per domain by sessions: free under 1,000 sessions, then from €6/month for 5,000 sessions up to €120/month for one million. IAB TCF starts on the Business plan at €30/month.

### 7. Axeptio

Axeptio, a French CMP known for its design, is free up to 200 visitors per month, then costs from €7/month (billed annually) to €129/month. IAB TCF is available from the €29/month plan. Comparison: [Axeptio vs FlowConsent](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison/axeptio-vs-flowconsent).

### 8. tarteaucitron.io

tarteaucitron.io is an open source script under the MIT licence, free to self-host. A Pro licence at €190/year covers unlimited sites. By design it keeps no consent log and has no IAB TCF, so you need another way to prove consent.

### For large organisations: OneTrust and Didomi

OneTrust and Didomi sell on quote. They cover web, apps and connected TV, and suit groups with a privacy team. All our side-by-side reviews are in the [CMP comparison hub](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/comparison).

## Is there a free iubenda alternative?

Yes, with trade-offs. FlowConsent is free up to 25,000 sessions per month with a consent log included. tarteaucitron.io is free if you host it yourself, without proof of consent. CookieYes, Usercentrics, CookieHub and Termly have free plans, but they stop between 1,000 sessions and 10,000 banner views per month.

## iubenda vs Cookiebot vs Termly: which one?

- **iubenda vs Cookiebot:** iubenda counts page views per site and includes legal documents; Cookiebot counts subpages per domain and focuses on consent. A large catalogue with low traffic often costs less on iubenda; a small site with heavy traffic often costs less on Cookiebot.
- **iubenda vs Termly:** both bundle a banner with policy generators. Termly charges a flat price per website on its paid plans, while iubenda adds overage by page views. Compare which documents and languages each one offers for your country before you choose.

## What happens to your privacy policy if you leave iubenda?

Moving your banner does not remove the need for a privacy policy. If your policies are hosted by iubenda, decide where they will live before you cancel. Either keep a plan for the documents, or publish the text as a page on your own site and take responsibility for updating it. Check iubenda's terms for what happens to hosted documents after cancellation.

## How to switch from iubenda without a compliance gap

1. **Export your data:** list of services, categories and your cookie consent records. Keep the records as long as you may need to prove past consents (see [what proof of consent to store](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/blog/proof-of-cookie-consent-what-to-store)).
2. **Recreate your services and categories** in the new tool and compare its scan with iubenda's list.
3. **Keep Accept and Reject buttons of equal weight**, as the CNIL and the EDPB expect.
4. **Replace the iubenda snippet** with the new one in the same release, so two banners never run together.
5. **Test in a private window:** before any choice, after Accept, after Reject. No tracking request should leave before consent.

Visitors will see the banner again after the switch, because the new tool does not read iubenda's consent cookie. That is expected and keeps consent valid.

## How FlowConsent handles a switch from iubenda

FlowConsent is built for sites that need a compliant banner without paying for documents they already have. When you create your banner, the automatic scan detects the cookies and third-party services on your site, so you can check them against your iubenda list. Scripts are blocked before consent, Google Consent Mode v2 is built in, and each choice is stored as exportable proof, hosted in Europe. Installation takes about ten minutes. The plan is free up to 25,000 sessions per month, then €14.99/month up to 100,000 sessions. Our guide to [migrating from another banner](https://www.flowconsent.com/en/doc/migrating-from-other-banner) walks through each step, from reconciling services to removing the old snippet.

### Is there a free alternative to iubenda?

Yes. FlowConsent is free up to 25,000 sessions per month and includes a consent log, Google Consent Mode v2 and script blocking before consent. tarteaucitron.io is free if you host it yourself, but it keeps no proof of consent. CookieYes, Usercentrics, CookieHub and Termly also have free plans, but they stop between 1,000 sessions and 10,000 banner views per month, which a growing site passes quickly.

### How much does iubenda cost in 2026?

iubenda bills per site or app. Essentials costs €4.99/month billed yearly for 25,000 page views and one language, Advanced €19.99/month for 50,000 page views and all languages, and Ultimate €79.99/month for 150,000 page views. Extra traffic costs €0.05 per 1,000 page views on every plan. Monthly billing is more expensive: €5.99, €21.99 and €89.99. Prices exclude VAT.

### iubenda or Cookiebot: which is better?

It depends on your site. iubenda counts page views per site and includes privacy policy and terms generators. Cookiebot counts the subpages its scanner finds per domain and focuses on consent. A large catalogue with modest traffic is often cheaper on iubenda, while a small site with heavy traffic is often cheaper on Cookiebot. Both support Google Consent Mode and IAB TCF, so compare the plan you would really need.

### What is the closest alternative to iubenda for legal documents?

Termly is the closest match, because it also combines a consent banner with generators for privacy policies, terms and other documents, billed per website. If you already have legal documents written by a lawyer, you do not need a bundle: a dedicated CMP such as FlowConsent, Usercentrics or CookieHub handles the banner, the blocking of scripts and the proof of consent, and you link your own privacy policy from the banner.

### Will visitors see the banner again after switching from iubenda?

Yes. The new CMP does not read the consent cookie that iubenda stored, so every returning visitor is asked again on their next visit. This is expected and keeps consent valid, because the new tool records its own proof. Keep your iubenda consent records as long as you may need to prove past consents, and replace both snippets in the same release so that two banners never run together.
